Hi, I’m Miriam.

I write about the aesthetics of everyday life.

As I wrote in my introductory post, I fell in love with classical music as a young violinist. Over time, my curiosity turned toward aesthetics in general, or as I like to put it, what makes something beautiful. I studied mostly German Romanticism in college, and began graduate studies to further explore music and meaning.

However the reality of my own suicidality forced me to come to terms with the world as it was. I decided to step away from the arts and ultimately toward psychology, first through trauma-informed care, followed by infant brain development and attachment parenting. I found a meaningful outlet in mental health coaching, and coached both online at Cerebral and in person at a local eating disorder clinic here in Portland, Oregon. I launched my private life coaching practice in May of 2024.

I write in order to collect my experiences in art and human relationships into something I can share with the world. There is so much beauty to behold, from the darkest places to the ones full of light. I hope that you are able to enjoy it as much as I do, and if not, be at least mildly entertained my take.

Thank you for visiting.
